Microsoft will be testing the xClould service in South Korea next month
Microsoft has announced that it will cooperate exclusively with South Korean telecoms company SK Telecom to introduce its experimental xClould cloud gaming service on the country's 5G network next month.
The announcement was made at a conference held yesterday at SK Telecom's headquarters, attended by Ryu Young-sang, vice president of Korea Telecom and Kareem Choudhry, Microsoft's vice president for the xClould project.
The 5G networks available in South Korea are a very convenient environment for live gaming services that the majority of technology companies are set to adopt in the coming period due to the high speed they offer.
XCloud is not the only project in this area where Google has already announced the project Scarlett and Sony has clarified some of its plan in this area, which is considered by the technical companies of the policies of the future of games.
According to the agreement, a number of SK Telecom users will have the opportunity to experience xCloud services in October, through 5G services and LTE connectivity.
The details of the application process and service experience have not yet been mentioned in the statement, while it is expected to clarify further during its conference on the devices to be held on October 2 in New York.
In general, Microsoft has started cooperation in the field of its cloud games service xCloud and partnership with service providers as happened with the Korean company, strongly indicates the near vision of the service available in other regions of the world with the expectation of new partnerships between the US giant and other telecom companies in order to lead this Domain and outperform competitors.
